We are always interested in sharing activities that are of interest to Bnai Mitzvah. The chesed program from Torat Reva Yerushalayim is one of these. We appreciate Rabbanit Sharona Halickman’s providing us information about the program.
Torat Reva Yerushalayim offers Chesed (Community Service) opportunities for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs who live in Israel, those visiting Israel, and those living abroad.
Soldiers Protecting Jerusalem
Families can raise money through a fundraiser or crowdfunding campaign for Baskets of Love. Then with you, we will prepare and deliver these baskets to the soldiers protecting Jerusalem. Baskets are $54 each and contain coffee, tea, chocolate and snacks.
For families who are unable to visit, we can deliver the baskets and personalized notes on your behalf.
Nursing Home Visit
Families can visit a Jerusalem nursing home. They can organize an activity or friendly visit with the residents. Activities can include an art project or a concert (for those with musical skills). Torat Reva helps you find the nursing home that best fits your family.

If you are looking for other examples of chesed opportunities you may also want to look at Areyvut’s Mitzvah clowning program. Birkat Chaverim has other types of program ideas as well. For instance, making tefillin or Kol HaOt’s learning experience. Please do check out our other ideas for Bar and Bat Mitzvah.
