Aren’t these beautiful? And simple to make. These were made by Malka Dubrawsky with scraps from her somewhat new line of fabric, “A Stitch in Color” which is based on her hand dyed fabric- I recommend you take a look at the fabrics they are based on as they are quite beautiful.
What I like about the idea is that 1. They look great 2. They are simple to make with children (although if you machine or hand sew them, you’d need to do them with older children) 3. They won’t get ruined if it rains! 4. They’ll look good in your sukkah for years to come.
We’ve made some fabric decorations before, as well as waterproof decorations, but these are especially neat. Take a look at Malka’s other work at her website.
I love this idea! And these fabrics are so beautiful. This post inspired me to use 1 1/2 inch wide ribbon to make my sukkah chains. You are referenced here: http://jewishhomeschoolnyc.blogspot.com/2012/09/sukkah-decorations.html
Gmar Chatimah Tovah!
Good idea about the ribbons. I like using remnants of things so i wonder how singleton colorful girl socks would turn out.
