Mitzvot Unplugged Welcome

Mitzvot Unplugged Series Welcome from Birkat ChaverimI’m very pleased to welcome you to the first ever Mitzvot Unplugged Series. The series developed as a conversation in my head and then with my kids. As my children get older I think more and more about how to inspire and develop their own desire to be good people, love of Torah and desire to do mitzvot. I know that much of that is role modeling and working on oneself in order to teach through living. At the same time, I also know there are many people and organizations doing wonderful things to educate people, and in particular children values and Jewish values.

This series is intended to explore ways to teach our kids Jewish values in a creative way. The period between Lag B’Omer and Shavuot seemed an appropriate time to focus on this, building towards Matan Torah. I am excited about the range of participants in the series. I would like them to be a surprise, but I will note that I seem to have a certain enthusiasm for home schooling (although I do not home school), artists of various sorts and non-profits for this series.

There are still a number of ways to participate in the series:
Guest posts: do you have something to say? We can still fit in one or two guest posts before Shavuot. You can mention what you’d like to talk about in the form below.
Links: have you written a post or article online that would be useful to teach values? Please do submit a link below.
Conversation: do you have something to say? Please do share your thoughts on the posts and guest posts.
