A while back I wrote a post about the book "Jeremiah Street" illustrated (with needle and thread) by Lena Guberman. If you are in the Rishon LTzion area in June there's a group show, "Needle and Thread" and Lena's work will be in it. The exhibition will be at Gallerina gallery throughout June. There's a few images from the exhibition at the gallery o ...
“Financial ruin” and the significance of the Bnei Akiva bencher project
When we started the Bnei Akiva bencher project, we knew that it would be useful to Bnei Akiva as a fundraiser. Originally it was intended as a fundraiser for Bnei Akiva New York/New Jersey. For the second printing, we offered it to other regions as a fund raiser too. I think some members did not understand what to do with the project or how it would hel ...
BiRechov Yirmiyahu- children’s book with textile eye candy
I have been meaning to post about this book for a long time but the Tenth of Tevet is appropriate due to the name of the book and the connection of the Prophet Jeremiah to the period of seige and destruction of Jerusalem. This book has a much happier subject. I found it at Shavua hasefer (book week) this past year and immediately bought two copies and showed it to my class (doll clothing) for inspiration. The book is called BiRechov Yirmiyahu or Jeremiah Street and is written by Libi Daon and illustrated by Lena Guberman.

I would like to mention a donation opportunity- the Cross Israel Hike, a fundraising event by the One Family Fund. The One Family Fund provides a range of aid and assistance to victims of terror in Israe ...

I’m going to draw on something I researched for a paper I wrote for my MA. The topic was depictions of Jerusalem in wedding invitations. At the time I looked at about 1000 wedding invitations in public and priv ...

I thought I would mention it now.For the fourth week I originally thought we would do accessories because of the smaller amount of sewing required. in the end one girl decided she wanted to do a skirt and top (minimal sewing) and the others finished off their sh ...
