Creative Purim Bar Mitzvah Invitation
We received this cute Purim Bar Mitzvah invitation and I got permission to share it here: I laughed when I opened it up. Loved the idea of using a mirror to reflect the text for "Venahafoch Hu." Don't forget that we have Purim bencher covers for family smachot.
Disney Mishloach Manot
As Purim is getting closer thought I'd share what we did last year. Last year we dressed up like Disney characters and did a Disney Mishloach Manot tie in. I generally like Mishloach Manot that are light and that cost less than what we would spend on Matanot L'Aevyonim (the mitzvah of a gift to the poor for making a Purim meal.) Also something that the ...

Felt Hammentashen Hair Clips for Purim
These felt hammentashen hair clips are a variation on the larger felt hamentashen we've made before. They are just cute and tiny. Here we are using them for hair clips, although the model is reluctant (the photo below is the photo before he yanked it out of his hair.) These would be fun as kippa clips and hair clips, even pins and earrings. I've put th ...

These are downloadable files which can be printed on your inkjet printer or by sending them to your local print shop for printing. Then you cut them out and use them to wrap cupcakes. Each file has wrappers for Ham ...
The Interrupting Cow or Nostalgia for Old Kids Jokes
This post is dedicated to my sophomore year college roomates and my daughter's friend who reminded me of this joke. As we were on our way to gan this friend taught the Interrupting cow joke to my daughter. I told them, this joke was one of our favorite jokes in college. Try and explain college to children under 6 year old! What in the world is college? ...
Moshe Rolls
I know this may look like a ginger bread man and candy cane to some of you but in our home this is Moshe and staff and sometimes Achashverosh, Mordechai, Haman and even Esther (although the last three without the rod.) We like to make rolls for school and rolls for children to say hamotzei and sometimes we make them in different shapes. I will admit ...

Mishloach Manot Ideas Crayons and others
Last year I shared some templates that I set up for our crayon and eraser mishloach manot. Above is a final photo of how they turned out. They were a big hit with small fry, I think most adults were afraid to try them. Then again, they are relatively harmless treats for children (ok there is a bit of sugar but still probably less than in all that Purim ...
