This week is the first week of summer for us and so we sat down and came up with what we wanted to do. Most of the things on the list were my daughter’s idea, although I wrote them down (she decorated the list 🙂 .)
We have twenty two things on the list so far-
- Chilazon Catch snails bring home then let them go
- recycle bottles
- sew something (I think doll clothing and a couch for the doll house)
- planting flowers
- work on reading (English)
- go swimming
- practice German (put signs in German and English all over house)
- Teach brother- make him a gan
- make doll house furniture
- ice drawing/ice archeology
- chug yoga (meaning daughter will lead family in yoga- she’s into it from gan
- learn al hamichya by heart (using Rav Ari Chwat’s tune)
- run through sprinkler (thats already watering grass)
- solar cooking
- regular cooking
- make ice cream
- science museum
- another local educational attraction
- invite aunts for dinner
- catch butterflies
- boat race/parachute race (make and test)
- circuit game
Almost all of these were daughter’s idea. She is particularly into working on reading as she is into earning money these days and I am allowing her to earn a little bit through “extras” around the house. Meaning, she still has to clean her room, but if she dusts certain areas, finds certain things that are missing, cleans something hard, practices German and English reading (learn al hamichya) then she can earn small sums of money (think 10 agurot/item.) I figure its a learning opportunity and she doesn’t expect to get paid to do things everyone in the house needs to do. Its also incentive to do things that are harder. Do you do incentives like that?
Would also like to hear about fun, creative ideas of stuff to do!
