\"AWell not exactly<\/em> a guide to Woman in Gold<\/a>. However, Yom Hashoah<\/em> is around the corner and Woman in Gold is a Holocaust related film. You may or may not know that the film highlights the (actual) restitution case of Klimt paintings owned by the Bloch-Bauer family undertaken by lawyer E. Randol Schoenberg. The “Woman in Gold” is the “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I.”<\/p>\n

Did you know that E. Randol Schoenberg (Randy) has a blog and has blogged a little bit about the background of this case<\/a> as well as other Holocaust art restitution cases<\/a>? These could be interesting as a reading assignment or additional resources for a high school Holocaust education course or for general background resources for Holocaust education and Holocaust art restitution.<\/p>\n

Schoenberg has also compiled a number of videos on Youtube related to Maria Altmann and the Klimt paintings, including the portrait of Adele Bloch Bauer I. You can go to them on Youtube, but I have also embedded them below starting with Schoenberg’s depositions of Altmann.<\/p>\n
