I made an arrow so the children would know which way was up.<\/li>\n<li>An empty bag of milk (to use in a project and because milk comes in a bag here)<\/li>\n<li>music cd<\/li>\n<li>a picture my daughter drew<\/li>\n<li>a coin and some used stamps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We had a good time putting it together and thinking about what we wanted to send.<\/p>\n<p>My daughter&#8217; also wrote up her own summary about where she lives. This is, in my opinion, the best part. I took a little out for privacy reasons:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Things to Know About Where I Live<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you do when you wake up in the morning?<\/strong><br \/>\nGo see if my Ima (mom) and Aba (dad) are up, eat breakfast, then I go to gan (kindergarten) I make pictures, play with my friends, pray, eat. I&#8217;m learning how to read English by writing down words from my books at home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>My favorite food:<\/strong> Egg salad<br \/>\nI like to play with people in synagogue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite book:<\/strong> Winnie the Pooh (original)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite thing to do in Jerusalem:<\/strong> To draw<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite place in Jerusalem:<\/strong> Kotel (Wailing wall)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Favorite thing to do in gan:<\/strong> Play outside in the yard<\/p>\n<p><strong>I want to tell other children about where I live&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My building: There are alot of snails and its very pretty. It has lots of flowers and trees. There is an olive tree and fig tree. In Jerusalem you can&#8217;t cross the street by yourself until you are 9 years old.<br \/>\nCome to Jerusalem to see but you should learn Hebrew. You could come to our house because we speak English.<\/p>\n<p><strong> I think that other children in other cities also&#8230;<\/strong> Play in the garden<br \/>\n<strong>What games do you like to play?<\/strong><br \/>\nIma and Aba, card game<br \/>\n<strong>What do you like best about Jerusalem?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Kotel<\/p>\n<p>Overall it was a good experience, although it would have been even better if the other participants had taken it a little more seriously. I found it a little disappointing that only one other participant, besides us, actually sent anything. Then again, we also wrote to Micky Mouse and Captain Underpants and we haven&#8217;t heard back from them either! And it was a good creative project to do together. We decided afterwards that maybe it made more sense to write to our friends and family to learn about them and the places that they live, rather than a random exchange.
