I know the title starts with Scarves, and I’m including one photo of a scarf at the top, but I am going to start with the updates.
Updates
Now that Chanukkah/Hanukkah is over we can get back to other topics. I have been working on a variety of graphic design projects but most are identity related and I’m not going to post any at this time.
I’m also slowly working on updating my other business site (besides graphic design and art stuff, I consult on digitization of cultural heritage) and consulting about some small business/artist websites.
Our chug/class is continuing. We have finished two scarves (see photos below), one “boo boo” animal (no pictures yet! Update: boo boo cat) and I have a feeling that today we are going to think about making some baby related items. This is because there have been a number of babies born recently in the neighbourhood. The girls are thinking about gifts, what to give the new babies.
Scarves
Both of the scarves in this post were designed by the girls who made them. The first was based on a scarf seen by the maker of the scarf. She sewed it on a sewing machine as we now have a Singer sewing machine on loan. This has been a great addition to the class and its nice to see the girls become comfortable using it.
The goal for the second scarf was to reducing sewing. The maker did not want to do a tremendous amount of sewing in order to get a nice result. She decorated it with several sequences, for a minimalist decorative look.
