I stumbled across this the other day:
This is a Building Block Calendar from The Enlivened Office. I thought this would be a fun idea for an Omer calendar. One could create ones own number blocks with stencils and such, use different color legos in groups of seven or if you are really ambitious, build a lego robot. I saw a sort of escalator type project listed in The LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 Discovery Book: A Beginner’s Guide to Building and Programming Robots
. Maybe escalator isn’t the right descriptor but it has a sort of conveyor belt. It would be really cool to make a conveyor type calendar with a timer to remind you to count.
Has anyone tried something like this?
Recycle leaves–sort of–
I collect small, stray, and wind blown plant and flower leaves. I “file” them / press them in random pages of my Siddur, Chumash, and other sefarim. It is always such a lovely surprise to come upon Hashem’s leaves as I’m davening! (I also “file” some leaves in the pages of my Jewish history and herstory books.)
